The Story

Back N Black delivers the goods with a high-voltage setlist spanning four decades of AC/DC’s greatest hits, bringing fans the songs that defined rock and roll.

Founded in 2007 by powerhouse vocalist David Jaynes, Back N Black was born from years of experience on the world stage. Jaynes previously toured internationally with the legendary AC/DC tribute Hells Bells—named by Rolling Stone Magazine as “The Greatest Tribute Band on the Planet”—as well as the world-renowned Black Jacket Symphony.

Fans can expect all the classics, including “Thunderstruck,” “Back in Black,” “Highway to Hell,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “T.N.T.,” “Hells Bells,” and “For Those About to Rock”—plus many more.

"Brian"

With over three decades on the national music stage, vocalist David Jaynes brings unmatched experience and authenticity to Back N Black. Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Dave is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier Brian Johnson sound-alikes, delivering the grit, power, and unmistakable scream that define AC/DC’s iconic frontman. He has been a key part of several top AC/DC tribute productions in the United States—including earning serious attention from AC/DC’s management during a period when Brian Johnson was semi-retired. Close your eyes, and you’ll swear Brian Johnson himself is in the room.

NIKO MAHERAS

"Angus"

Born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, Niko grew upon a steady diet of rock and roll from the age of two—making him the perfect fit to take on the iconic role of Angus Young back in late 2024. From blistering solos to nonstop headbanging and duck walking, Niko channels the sound, attitude, and raw electricity that made Angus a legend. His performance doesn’t just sound authentic—it’s a full-throttle experience that leaves audiences asking, “Where does this guy get that much energy?”

CHRIS "WOODY" WOOD

"Malcom"

On a cold Christmas morning in 1980 in Trenton, Canada, Woody received a life-changing gift—AC/DC’s Back in Black. From that moment, he knew rock and roll was his calling. That calling was cemented in 1986 after seeing AC/DC live and hearing Malcolm Young’s legendary guitar tone. “That was the sound I wanted to make.”

Woody doesn’t just play like Malcolm—he captures the tone, groove, and spirit that defined AC/DC. From the gear to the look to the feel, he truly embodies the heart and soul of AC/DC, honoring the legacy of Malcolm Young.

CHRIS PRESTA

"Phil"

Every great band needs a guy born in Queens, New York, right? Meet Chris.

With Back N Black since 2011, Chris is recognized as one of the top drummers in Georgia—and arguably the Southeast. He delivers the unmistakable power and groove of Phil Rudd from behind his signature Sonor kit, locking the band in with authority.

Back N Black also pays tribute to Chris Slade, giving fans the full range of AC/DC’s iconic drum sound—an authentic experience you won’t hear anywhere else.

BOB COWLES

"Cliff"

Bob, along with Dave, helped launch Back N Black in 2007. While bass players can sometimes fly under the radar, Bob is an essential part of the band, delivering every iconic Cliff Williams groove with precision and heart. From the subtle passing notes to the rumbling low end that makes the stage quake, he brings the foundation that keeps the band rocking.

Offstage, Bob is also the CEO, handling all things business. If you want Back N Black to bring the thunder to your city, he’s the man to talk to!
